Capital One Arena Event Planning Guide

Catering

Washington Capitals luxury suites can be fully catered with your favorite foods, drinks and alcohol. This is handled in advance post-purchase and something you're not charged for until the day of the game. A Capitals suite menu will be presented to you for you to make your selections.

Parking and Transportation

If your Capitals suite includes VIP Parking, the VIP lot at Capital One Arena is located in the Lexus Garage (connected to the arena). Capital One Arena is accessible via public transportation including the Metro which stops directly underneath the venue (Gallery Place-Chinatown).

Budget

A Capitals suite rental will cost between $2,500-$6,000 on average. In addition to paying for the suite, you'll need to factor in catering costs. Most people spend around $85 per person for in-suite catering at a Capitals game. Other costs to consider could be any Capitals souvenirs on game day.

Club Access

Those with a Capitals suite ticket have access to the PwC Club located on the Club Level Concourse. The PwC Club is a high-end restaurant and bar that opens 90 minutes prior to Capitals games. The Club Level Concourse offers private restrooms, lounge seating, and upgraded concessions.

Dress Code

There is no formal dress code for the suite levels at Capital One Arena. Corporate groups attending a Capitals game will usually dress in business casual attire. However, it is not uncommon for suite guests to dress casually in Capitals jerseys, jeans, hats, etc. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Venue Bag Policy

Backpacks of any size as well as luggage, roller bags, hard-sided bags/briefcases and bags larger than 14”x14”x6” are prohibited at Capital One Arena. All guests entering Capital One Arena will go through a metal detector screening. Laptops and tablets are permitted for Capitals games.

Entrances

All gates are fine to use if you have a Capitals suite ticket. The most recommended entry is off F Street near the Team Store. If you've parked in the Lexus garage, the entrance is accessed from the F Street lobby elevators. Capital One Arena entrances open 90 minutes prior to Capitals games.

Child Ticket Policy

Children under the age of 3 do not require a separate ticket for admission for a Capitals game, provided they sit on the lap of a parent or guardian. Any child 3 or older will need a ticket whether they are in a Capitals suite or not. Strollers are permitted at Capital One Arena.

Capitals Spotlight

Current NHL Season

Washington should fight for a postseason spot in 2023-24, a place it has been 14 of the last 16 years. The Capitals are headlined by all-time great Alex Ovechkin. He reached 822 career goals last season, moving him to second all-time. Ovechkin continues his quest to become the top scorer in NHL history, sitting 72 goals behind the leader Wayne Gretzky. That alone is worth the entry fee. Washington kept most of its core intact in the off-season, transitioning fluidly into the upcoming campaign. Some of the small changes included the addition of defender Joel Edmundson and winger Max Pacioretty. Both should push the Capitals offense forward. Washington is exciting this season, especially with Ovechkin still on the ice.

Past Spotlights

After competitive six-game series against top-seeded Florida last year, the Washington Capitals have re-tooled a bit but maintain their offensive core. Alexander Ovechkin is back, as are John Carlson and T.J. Oshie. Nicklas Backstrom and Tom Wilson are also projected to return later in the year after missing the start of the season due to injuries. Connor McMichael was promoted to the main club this year, and Dylan Strome was added in free agency—both to help the center position. The main move was signing goaltender Darcy Kuemper from Colorado, where he’s coming off an excellent regular season and did something that no team has been able to do in three years: beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in the playoffs.

New at Capital One Arena this year is VIP seating that covers the first three rows around the ice and has exclusive access to the new Caesars Sportsbook inside the arena. Suites that ring the arena can hold anywhere from eight to 54 fans, and all packages come with three different complimentary food and beverage options—beer included!

Boasting one of the most experienced rosters in the NHL, staying healthy might be the biggest hurdle for a team just four seasons removed from a Stanley Cup Championship. The captain continues his march toward history as Alexander Ovechkin begins the year sixth on the NHL’s all-time goals list and could easily crack the top-three by season’s end. Numerous familiar faces return as well, including forwards Evgeny Kuznetsov, Tom Wilson, T.J. Oshie, and defensemen John Carlson and Dmitry Orlov. Goaltending duties will be split once again between the young duo of Ilya Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek. The former posted a record of 13-4-1 despite struggling with inconsistent play and two separate absences on the league’s COVID-19 protocol list. The latter won 21 games and recorded an impressive .936 save percentage in his rookie campaign. The Capital One Arena goes to great lengths to ensure your night at the rink can also suit all of your business needs. An Ultra Club Season Ticket Membership provides an ideal atmosphere for networking and entertaining clients with food prepared by nationally-recognized chefs and unlimited beer, wine, and signature cocktails in addition to the excellent sightlines of the ice. Sample a supreme menu of hors d’oeuvres and delicious desserts at the Upscale Caesars Sportsbook Lounge before sitting in the best seats in the house with a VIP Row A Season Ticket Membership.
