Lakers Spotlight

Current NBA Season

After six years without a playoff game, Lakers fans will likely see the return of playoff basketball at Staples Center this spring thanks to the acquisition of Anthony Davis from New Orleans. A healthy LeBron James and Davis should make for a stout pairing, along with new acquisitions like Danny Green, Troy Daniels, and Avery Bradley. Veteran head coach Frank Vogel and assistant Jason Kidd will be leading the team this year, and don’t forget the low-risk/high-reward free agent signing of Dwight Howard, as he hopes his second tour of duty with the Lakers will go better than the first.

The ways you can catch the Lakers in style at Staples Center are nearly limitless. The nearly 200 private and event suites were all refurbished in 2016, making for a state-of-the-art premium experience. Premier seats gets you into the building 30 minutes before everyone else, along with... MORE

Past Spotlights

After a half decade of irrelevance the Los Angeles Lakers are officially back on the NBA map. Add LeBron James to the list of the all-time greats to suit up in the purple and gold - this season The King begins his journey as a Los Angeles Laker. Magic Johnson and the Lakers made the splashiest move of the wild NBA off-season, inking LeBron James to a 4-year, $154 million deal. The on-court struggles and the free agency failures of the post-Kobe era can now be forgotten, as LeBron James is tasked with the mission to bring the Lakers franchise back to its iconic stature.

With the arrival of LeBron James, the Lakers instantly return as can’t miss entertainment in Hollywood. James is the best basketball player of his generation, if not of all time, and the excitement around his presence in LA is certainly well deserved. Watching “showtime” live at Staples Center is back - the Los Angeles Lakers are once again the hottest ticket on the market.

Magic Johnson has crafted an interesting roster for head coach Luke Walton to work with, hoping the blend of young talent, savy veterans, and defensive-minded playmakers will be the perfect formula around LeBron James. After locking in LeBron James on the first day of free agency, the Lakers added Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee and others to round out the roster.

Forwards Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma are two of the most talented young players in the league, and they should benefit tremendously by playing next to and learning from LeBron James. Both players are extremely young and their development may be the deciding factor in determining just how far this Lakers team can go in 2019. The highly scrutinized Lonzo Ball will have a lot to prove in his second professional season. He showed great promise as a distributor and rebounder for his position, but Ball’s shooting and scoring ability will need to improve if he wants to live up to his pre-draft potential. And of course, Lonzo’s dad LaVar Ball never seems to keep his mouth out of the spotlight. With LeBron James and LaVar Ball in the mix, there will be no shortage of entertainment coming out of Hollywood this season.

When heading out to Staples Center be sure to experience LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in VIP fashion. Staples Center suites are perfect for entertaining clients or going to the game with family and friends. A Staples Center suite for Lakers games can accommodate groups of 12-18 people. With your suite you will get VIP parking, premium in-suite catering options, HDTVs and exclusive access to clubs located on the suite levels. There are three suite levels at the Staples Centers: A, B & C. With no shortage of celebrities at Lakers games to witness LeBron James in the purple and gold, Staples Center luxury suites may lead you to some familiar faces in the suite next door.

The Los Angeles Lakers look like an exciting team once again after an offseason of infusing their roster with young talent for head coach Luke Walton. This year Walton will have an interesting roster full of young and talented pieces to work with, specifically Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram. Lonzo Ball was the second pick in the NBA draft, and the UCLA product is the Laker's most touted rookie in recent memory. Brandon Ingram has all the tools to become a great NBA player. The incoming Ball, with his pass-first mentality and up-tempo playing style, should greatly aid Ingram's development.

Along with their two young stars the Lakers added Brook Lopez to provide steady production and veteran leadership. Lopez is former all star who provides low post scoring as well as outside shooting at the center position. Add in Jordan Clarkson’s and Julius Randle’s continued improvement and the Lakers look like a team on the rise in 2017.
