The Boston Red Sox continued to transition into a new era during the 2024 season. After a last-place finish in 2023, Boston showed marginal improvement in 2024, hovering around the .500 mark in baseball's toughest division. Stars like Rafael Devers and Masataka Yoshida led the offense with consistent production, while young players such as Triston Casas made strides to solidify the lineup. The team's front office, under new leadership of baseball operations chief Craig Breslow, signaled a commitment to building for the future, and a healthier pitching staff kept the Red Sox competitive in many games. Despite missing the postseason again, the club's positive momentum and recent offseason moves, including developing homegrown talent and smart trades, have fans hopeful for a 2025 resurgence.
