Seattle finally gets an NHL team for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. The Seattle Kraken is the 32nd team to join the ranks of the NHL and is set to play in the former KeyArena which originally housed the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics. The name "Kraken" is derived from the long-time Seattle folklore of the mystical sea creature that supposedly lives just below the surface of the Pacific Northwest waters. Seattle can't wait to "Release the Kraken" in the newly refurbished KeyArena building which will be called Climate Pledge Arena.
