Capital One Arena Event Planning Guide

Suite Experience Group helps customers all over the world plan corporate and personal events at Capital One Arena in the comfort of a private luxury suite. In this section we’ve put together the key considerations when planning an event for a suite at Capital One Arena.

With three different suite levels and over 100 suites, Capital One Arena can accommodate a range of group sizes. Depending on your suite level and whether you purchase additional "standing room" passes in the suite, your group can include anywhere from 18-28 guests.  The typical Lexus Level suite comes with 18 tickets, while your average Lower Level suite comes with 20 tickets. The standard Club Level suite maxes out at 28 guests.

Private luxury boxes at the Capital One Arena commonly range from $2,250 - $4,500. For both the Washington Wizards and 2017-2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals prices will typically range from $2,250 - $4,500. Additionally, Capital One Arena is home to Georgetown Hoyas, Washington Mystics (WNBA), Washington Valor (AFL). Suite prices for those teams and other events including concerts will vary. The price range for private suites to concerts at Capital One Arena varies widely, with the best suites for the most popular concerts exceeding $10,000.

All private luxury suites at the Capital One Arena offer catering which is handled exclusively through Aramark. It is recommended that food and beverage orders be placed by 12 P.M. EST five business days before the event. If you do not place the order in advance, you can still order food and drinks in your suite, as you will have an attendant there to assist with catering during your event.  Not that there is a more limited suite menu to place orders from the day of the event.

The Capital One Arena suite catering menu offers many different packages for both food and drinks. We can assist you with selecting the appropriate package for your group based on the number of people you will be hosting in your suite and your budget. There is truly no shortage of options as the Capital One Arena luxury suite menu offers everything from classic stadium food to Italian main courses and even some surf and turf items. A full bar menu with high end liquor is also available to suite patrons.

All luxury suite guests will have access to the PwC club. The PwC Club is a high end restaurant and bar that is located on the concourse of the club level. The PwC club is open to anyone with a suite ticket. All you have to do is show your suite ticket to the host at the entrance of the club. The club will open one and a half hours before the start of Wizards, Capitals, and Georgetown games. For concerts, the PwC club will open to private suite guests 1 hour before the show begins.

Dress code in the luxury boxes at Capital One Arena will depend on what others in your group are wearing. Often times, if it’s a corporate event, guests will be dressed in business casual attire. However, it is not uncommon for members of the group in the suite to wear jeans with a shirt or jersey of their favorite team.

Capital One Arena is located at 601 F Street, NW in Washington DC. While most suites come with VIP parking passes, Capital One Arena is also very accessible via metro:

The Gallery Place - Chinatown metro station is located directly below Capital One Arena. The Red, Yellow, and Green lines will all stop at this station.

There are other stations nearby that include the Judiciary Square station (Red), the Metro Center (Red, Orange, Silver, Blue), and Archives-Navy Memorial Penn Quarter (Green, Yellow).

The Metro will run until 11:30 P.M. Monday-Thursday, 1 A.M. Friday-Saturday, and 11 P.M. Sunday.

Luxury boxes at Capital One Arena come with 2 VIP parking passes.  Additionally, there is a special executive suite will call window. This window is located near the box office at the main F Street Entrance. Window #1 will open one and a half hours before the event.

Capital One Arena will open one and a half hours before Wizards, Capitals, and Hoyas games. All fans entering the Capital One Arena will go through a metal detector screening. Any bags larger then 14” x 14” x 6” will not be allowed into the stadium.

Stadium Information

Capital One Arena, formerly known as the Verizon Center, is home to both the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals. The Capital One Arena is owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment and was originally built in December of 1997. In 1997, the arena opened as the MCI Center and cost $260 million to build. In 2007, it became known as the Verizon Center and not until 2017 did it become the Capital One Arena. The venue holds over 200 events a year including Georgetown Hoyas basketball games, Washington Mystics WNBA games, concerts, and family-focused events like Disney on Ice.

Suite Information

There are 102 luxury suites distributed across 3 suite levels at Capital One Arena, all of which provide for excellent environments for corporate entertainment or group gatherings. The main suite level is the Lexus Level, which wraps almost completely around the court or ice. There are 60 Lexus Level suites, and each includes 18 tickets and 2 VIP parking passes. The suite level closest to the court or ice is the Lower Level, and it has 26 suites situated along both sidelines. Lower Level suites are similar in size to the Lexus Level suites, and contain 20 tickets and 2 VIP parking passes. The Club Level suites are the largest of the 3 suite types, and include 28 tickets and 2 VIP parking passes. Suites vary slightly in size and even capacity, so there are options for larger groups as well. All suite catering and service in the arena is handled by Levy Restaurants, one of the premier food service companies in the country.
