Last season shouldn’t scare Penguins fans away. For the first time in 16 years, Pittsburgh missed the playoffs. But in 2023-24, the team should be back in the picture. Sidney Crosby still leads the charge in Pittsburgh. The longtime veteran posted 93 points last season, his best mark since 2018-19. Crosby is joined by Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, all of whom have been with the organization since 2006. Malkin is still producing at 37 years old, coming off his best season in five years. And Letang is the backbone of the defense, a unit he’s anchored for over 15 years. To improve, Pittsburgh overhauled some of its roster. Erik Karlsson, Reilly Smith, Ryan Graves, and Rem Pitlick headline the offseason additions. The Penguins are primed to bounce back in 2023-24.
