Wild Spotlight

Current NHL Season

Minnesota has made the playoffs in 10 of the last 11 seasons, a trend that should continue in 2023-24. The Wild’s biggest strength is their defense. Minnesota ranked seventh in goals against last season. Even better, the Wild were third in save percentage. That was helped by goalie Filip Gustavsson who ranked second in the NHL in goals against. His personal save percentage of 93.1% also came in second. Offensively, Kirill Kaprizov shined in 2022-23. The left winger notched 40 goals and 75 points to lead the team. Youngster Matt Boldy impressed as well, putting up 63 points in his second season. If he continues to improve, Minnesota gets a lot better. The Wild are well-rounded, which should translate well come April.

Past Spotlights

Two Minnesota mainstays may be gone, but one of the NHL’s brightest stars is locked in for the Wild’s future. The franchise bid farewell to fan-favorites Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, however, Kirill Kaprizov signed a five-year extension following a Calder Trophy winning season. Kaprizov hopes to pick up where he left off after netting 27 goals in his first year in the league. Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek will provide top line support, with the latter, 24-year-old Eriksson Ek coming off a career-best 19-goal campaign. Should 2020 No. 9 overall draft pick Marco Rossi join the squad, he could easily be the beneficiary of increased minutes. Cam Talbot holds down the fort in net, and if he plays back to his 2016-17 form where he won 42 games, an eighth playoff appearance in ten years won’t be out of the question. There’s no question as to where the best seats are inside the Xcel Energy Center. On-the-Glass Seats put you as close as the NHL allows to the action and includes membership to the most exclusive membership in town, the On-the-Glass Club. A little more privacy comes with membership to the Bud Light Top Shelf Lounge. Loge Box seating with a Scandinavian influence comes with an all-inclusive food and beverage package, catered by Levy Restaurants. Exceptional dining opportunities are also available at one of the premier seating options in all of sports and entertaining, the RBC Wealth Management Club Level.

It’s a new era in the North Star State, as Bill Guerin takes over as general manager of the Wild, after a successful run as an assistant in Pittsburgh.

Guerin wasted no time by bringing in former Rangers standout Matz Zuccarello in on a five-year deal. Kevin Fiala and Ryan Donato, late additions to the club a season ago via trades with Nashville and Boston respectively, will be relied upon for this entire season.

Defender Matt Dumba is healthy and will anchor what appears to be a stout blue line, and hopefully they can give goalenders Devan Dubnyk and Alex Stalock some confidence.

While it may be cold outside, come heat things up at the Xcel Energy Center by enjoying a premium experience. The Bremer Bank Suite Level is just above the lower bowl, and you will be treated like royalty in your own luxury suite. Enjoy the game with personalized catering and a private attendant, along with parking passes, private suite level restrooms, and two HDTVs in each box.

For a more communal atmosphere, check out the Bud Light Top Shelf Lounge. It’s an all-inclusive parlor area behind the goal on the west side of the arena. There’s a private bar, complimentary buffet, and 24 loge boxes to enjoy the game in style.
