Armed with two lottery picks, a significant roster overhaul, and — fingers crossed — a healthier Zion Williamson, the New Orleans Pelicans look to take a meaningful step forward. New Orleans made a splash in the summer. The marquee move was acquiring Jordan Poole (20.5 ppg in 2024-25) via a three-team trade that sent Chris McCollum and Kelly Olynyk to Washington. The deal also brought back Ignas Brazdeikis and veteran big Kevon Looney, who adds championship pedigree and stability in the paint. On draft night, the Pelicans cashed in their lottery luck by selecting Jeremiah Fears at No. 7 and then trading back into the lottery to grab Maryland big man Derik Queen at No. 13 — a promising haul for the team to set them up for success in 2026.
