Detroit Tigers Suites

After back-to-back playoff appearances, the 2026 Detroit Tigers are set on getting to the World Series. With two-time AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal in his final year of team control, the Tigers pushed their chips to the center of the table this offseason. Behind Skubal, the Tigers’ pitching rotation is one of the best in all of MLB: Skubal, Framber Valdez, Jack Flaherty, Justin Verlander, and Casey Mize. Detroit figures to battle the Guardians and Royals for the AL Central crown and a postseason spot.

Detroit continues to build towards its first playoff appearance since 2014. The Tigers have a deep lineup that is a mix of veterans and youth. First baseman Spencer Torkelson hit 31 homers in his first full MLB season in 2023. Outfielders Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, and Parker Meadows are all under 26 years old. And infielders Javier Baez and Gio Urshela add experience. On the mound, Detroit added starters Kenta Maeda and Jack Flaherty to help. The two join Tarik Skubal, who had an impressive 2.80 ERA in 15 starts last season. The Tigers should improve in 2024.

After a miserable start in 2021 that saw Detroit go 8-22, the Tigers were actually six games above .500 the rest of the way. Detroit hopes to keep the momentum going with young pitchers Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal leading a rotation that was beefed up by veterans Eduardo Rodriguez and Michael Pineda. On offense, top prospect Spencer Torkelson was called up and joins newly acquired veterans Javier Baez and Tucker Barnhart in a new-look lineup that has Tiger fans dreaming of October for the first time in at least a half decade.
