Avalanche Spotlight

Current NHL Season

A disappointing first round exit last season shouldn’t change Colorado’s expectations. The Avalanche have made the postseason six straight years, including a 2021-22 title. That trend isn’t wavering anytime soon. Colorado’s star power is hard to miss. Center Nathan MacKinnon led the way with 111 points and a career-high 42 goals and 69 assists. He’s a certified superstar that is only getting better. Mikko Rantanen also had 100+ points in a career-best season. Rantanen was one of three players to record 50+ goals and assists in 2022-23. On defense, the Avs have another complete stud in Cale Makar. In just 60 games last year, Makar had 49 assists, ranking top 12 in the NHL. Those three are enough to carry a team to a championship. It helps when the three already have a title under their belts.

Past Spotlights

After owning regular seasons in recent years but falling short in the playoffs, the Avalanche remained dominant throughout the playoffs, going 16-4 on their way to their first Stanley Cup since 2001, knocking off two-time champion Tampa Bay in six games. The biggest change in the Avs’ quest to repeat will be in goal, as Darcy Kuemper signed on as a free agent with Washington. Colorado will go with Rangers backup Alexandar Georgiev and Pavel Francouz, who was 4-0 as a starter in last year’s playoffs while Kuemper dealt with an eye injury. The cornerstone pieces of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Gabriel Landeskog, Valeri Nichuskin, Cale Makar, and Devon Toews all return.

Have an experience fit for a champion at Ball Arena by catching an Avs game in a luxury suite. Comfortable leather seats await you in this private setting that comes with customizable catering packages, in-suite attendant, VIP parking, and private arena entrance. It’s Stanley Cup or bust in the Rocky Mountains. One season after claiming the Presidents’ Trophy for the boasting the best regular season record in the league, the Avalanche return primed to claim the Cup that eluded them. Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Gabriel Landeskog comprise one of the top offensive units in the NHL. Colorado replaced the departed Ryan Graves and Patrik Nemeth with a pair of longtime Blue Jackets in Jack Johnson and Ryan Murray. Philipp Grubauer may now be between the pipes of the expansion Seattle Kraken, but Darcy Kuemper can be more than just an adequate replacement if he stays healthy. Rinkside glass and rinkside bench seat fans in the thick of the action at Ball Arena and membership to the Lexus Club can put you up along that plexiglass. All-inclusive food and beverage, complimentary parking, and dedicated concierge service come with membership, as well as extended access to the club before the puck drops.
