Giants Spotlight

Current NFL Season

The 2020 New York Giants are ready to attack the NFC East. The NY Giants have a new head coach running the show, Joe Judge. However, the pressure is on second year QB Daniel Jones. The Giants used 3 draft picks on the offensive line including their first pick at number 4 in the 2020 draft, Andrew Thomas. Protecting Jones is key to his progression and the team’s success. A better offensive line and the addition of offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett, should help players like Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram have big years as well.

The Giants are rebuilding their defense and will see improvement after drafting S Xavier McKinney, arguably the best safety in the 2020 class. In addition to McKinney, the Giants added James Bradberry and Blake Martinez who will provide big upgrades at their respected positions.

Past Spotlights

After a newsworthy offseason, the 2019 New York Giants season is sure to be interesting, if nothing else.

The biggest move was drafting the successor to Eli Manning with the sixth-overall pick of the NFL Draft. General Manager Dave Gettleson took Daniel Jones out of Duke, which just about unanimously surprised observers, considering that the Giants also owned the No. 17 pick. New York went with defense for their other two first-round selections, taking Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker.

Jones may not see the field this season, as Giants fans hope that Eli Manning has one more season of magic left while tutoring his replacement.

A month prior to the draft, the Giants made major headlines again with the trade of superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. The All-Pro was shipped to the Cleveland Browns for a series of draft picks – one of which was used to draft Lawrence. In free agency, the Giants signed veteran wideout Golden Tate to try and lessen the impact of OBJ’s departure. New No. 1 wide receiver Sterling Shepard also signed a contract extension.

One stable part of the Giants team is at the running back position. Saquon Barkley is entering his second season after winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2018, when he compiled over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.

MetLife Stadium is entering its tenth season as home of the G-Men. The stadium boasts over 10,000 club seats and its 200-plus suites are located on four separate levels of the stadium, including some located right behind the teams’ benches.

Big Blue’s NFC East rivalry games are always the highlights of the season – home and away contests with Dallas, Philadelphia, and Washington. Besides those games, five other teams will visit East Rutherford, New Jersey for a date with the Giants: Buffalo, Minnesota, Arizona, Green Bay, and Miami. The Giants’ five non-division road games will be held at: Tampa Bay, New England (Thursday night game), Detroit, crosstown rival New York Jets, and Chicago.

The 2018 New York Giants will be led by their two-time Super Bowl champion, Eli Manning. Manning is pleased to see the Giants added one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL during free agency, Nate Solder. The Giants made their biggest splash of the off-season on Draft Day, selecting Penn State running back Saquon Barkley second overall. Barkley will provide immediate energy, athleticism, and firepower to the Giants offense and should quickly develop into a fan favorite. Scouts have argued the NFL hasn't seen a running back prospect like Saquon Barkley in decades - talk about high praise!

The Giants also added running back Jonathan Stewart and wide receiver Cody Latimer. One of the biggest off-season moves was trading Jason Pierre-Paul to the Buccaneers. This was a cost saving move for the Giants and in return they received multiple draft picks. The Giants still have star power on both sides of the football. Odell Beckham Jr. is coming back from injury, looking to regain his status as a premier wide receiver in the NFL. Tight end Evan Engram shined as a rookie last year and will look to have more success in 2018. Defensively, Janoris Jenkins, Landon Collins, Damon Harrison and Olivier Vernon will lead the Giants.

One of the Giants' biggest stories of the year is the hiring of new head coach, Pat Shurmur. Shurmur was previously the offensive coordinator for the Vikings and now becomes the 18th head coach in Giants franchise history.

MetLife Stadium is not just home to the New York Giants but also the New York Jets. Besides football, MetLife Stadium will also be putting on several concerts including Beyonce & Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran and Kenny Chesney. New York Giants suites at MetLife Stadium vary in price and capacity. MetLife Stadium suite levels include the Commissioners Club, Hertz President's Circle, Hertz Five Star and the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards level. The Commissioners Club is the most exclusive suite level in MetLife Stadium and it's also the closest level to the field. The President's Circle suites are right above the 100-level seating sections. Above the 200-level seating sections, are the Five Star and Gold Plus Rewards levels. Amenities in the President's Circle and Five Star levels are very similar. The biggest differences are the numbers of rows up from the field you are. The main difference with a Gold Plus Rewards suite is that these are going to be enclosed and won't have exterior seating. A New York Giants suite rental will include VIP parking, premium in-suite catering options, private entry into MetLife Stadium, HD-TVs and a dedicated suite attendant.
