Saints Spotlight

Current NFL Season

The 2020 New Orleans Saints have all the makings of a Super Bowl contender. To reach Super Bowl LV in Tampa Bay this year, the Saints will once again rely on their all-pro quarterback, Drew Brees. Head coach Sean Payton has built one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL featuring Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Jared Cook and Taysom Hill. Apparently, Payton wanted more so the Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders and Jameis Winston in the offseason.

The defense in 2020 is filled with Pro Bowl talent. Cameron Jordan anchors the unit after coming off his career best season in sacks. David Onyemata was resigned in the offseason to keep their defensive line intact. To boost the secondary, the Saints signed free agent Malcolm Jenkins who was originally drafted by the Saints in 2009. We cannot forget to mention one of the best cornerback tandems in all the NFL, Marshon Lattimore and... MORE

Past Spotlights

Perhaps the most important offseason change for the New Orleans Saints is the new replay rule that will allow pass interference plays to be reviewed.

If such a rule was in effect for the 2018 season, there’s a very good chance the Saints would, at the very least, be the defending NFC champions, and possibly Super Bowl 53 champions as well.

A missed pass interference call likely changed the complexion of the NFC title game between the Rams and Saints, leaving New Orleans stewing over a missed call.

In the wake of that play, a one-year experiment will take place this year where pass interference can be reviewed via replay.

In the 2018 regular season, the Saints did tie for the best record in the NFL at 13-3.

For 2019, veteran quarterback Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton are back for the 14th-consecutive season. There were a few big free agent signings: defensive tackle Malcom Brown is fresh off two Super Bowl championships with New England and is a great run-stuffer; guard/center Max Easton will plug the hole left by the retirement of center Max Unger; and tight end Jared Cook makes his way from Oakland to the Big Easy.

A great way to experience the Saints’ run of redemption towards a Super Bowl berth is via a suite experience at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The food and drink experience at the longtime home of the Saints is a unique experience, as you can eat Crescent City specialties like Shrimp Po’boys, catfish, and BBQ. New for 2019 is the Corner Office: Specialty Cocktails & Tavern. Food fare will include pizza, wings, and sandwiches, but the mixed drink menu is the star. A hurricane, bloody Mary, margarita, colada, mojito, and old fashioned are among the spirits available that you might not normally expect at a football game, but it is true to the New Orleans experience.

Besides NFC South foes Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Carolina, teams visiting the Superdome this season will be: Houston (Week 1 Monday night game), Dallas, Arizona, San Francisco, and Indianapolis.

The New Orleans Saints took care of business and resigned their star quarterback Drew Brees. Brees is back with the Saints on a two-year deal. With Brees at the helm, the Saints are a 2018 Super Bowl contender. 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Alvin Kamara, will look to build upon his rookie success in the backfield. Kamara will do so by teaming up with running back Mark Ingram. Brees’ favorite target, Michael Thomas, will look to establish himself as one of the league’s top wide receivers. In free agency, the Saints added another offensive weapon in tight end, Ben Watson.

To help give their secondary a boost, the Saints also signed veteran safety Kurt Coleman. Coleman gets to team up with one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, Marshon Lattimore. Lattimore and Marcus Williams had breakout years as rookies. Lattimore was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2017. The Saints didn’t stop there in the offseason, adding more depth to their defense by adding Patrick Robinson and Demario Davis.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is home to the New Orleans Saints but will also be hosting a wide range of events in 2018 including WrestleMania 34, Beyoncé & Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, the Bayou Country Superfest and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Suites for the Saints and all these events are going to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Saints suites will feature HDTVs, wet bars, balcony seating and a suite attendant. There are two suite levels at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the 300 and 400 suite levels. No matter the event, suites can be fully catered in advance. Suites for Saints games will vary in price based on the opponent, suite details and the date.
