Panthers Spotlight

Current NFL Season

The 2020 Carolina Panthers make major changes across the board to help rejuvenate Bank of America Stadium. Replacing Ron Rivera is new head coach, Matt Rhule. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater steps in to replace Cam Newton. Tight end Greg Olsen has also moved, and linebacker Luke Kuechly announced his retirement. With many new faces in Carolina, the Panthers look to climb back up top of the NFC South. Lucky for them, they have arguably the most dynamic player in the NFL, Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey is a player that can-do damage both in the running and passing game. Speaking of passing, the Panthers also signed WR Robby Anderson to add to Bridgewater’s arsenal. Anderson joins D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel as the team’s top receiving options.

In the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Panthers selected DT Derrick Brown to be a big-time presence on the defensive line. The... MORE

Past Spotlights

It’s hard to believe that Cam Newton is already 30 years old, but the former No. 1 overall draft pick has reached the milestone with the Carolina Panthers retooling for another run atop the NFC South.

Newton’s list of accomplishments is lengthy: 2015 NFL MVP, the all-time record holder for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (58), and 182 touchdown passes in eight seasons.

Head coach Ron Rivera, in charge since 2011, is the seventh-longest tenured coach in the NFL and is the only head coach Newton has played for.

Last season started well at 6-2, but a seven-game losing streak derailed the season. Five-straight losses were by seven points or less, and Newton was shut-down for the final two games to protect his health of his throwing shoulder.

Newton says he’s 100 percent going into 2019. The team spent some money in the offseason to help protect their franchise quarterback. Center Matt Paradis was brought over from Denver on a three-year deal worth $27 million, and offensive tackle Daryl Williams was resigned to a one-year contract. Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little was picked in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft. Edge rusher Brian Burns, out of Florida State, was selected in the first round and is expected to help lead the transition to a 3-4 defense.

Going into the first full season with David Tepper as owner, plans are in the works to upgrade the fan experience at Bank of America Stadium in downtown Charlotte. Luxury suites at the stadium offer a private entrance and reserved parking, along with fully retractable windows so you can enjoy the game in comfort if the weather isn’t cooperating. A new indoor practice facility is also debuting this training camp.

The NFC South is always unpredictable, so two games apiece against Atlanta, New Orleans, and Tampa Bay will be critical to the Panthers’ success. Other teams coming to Bank of America Stadium this season are the Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Washington, and Seattle. Road games outside the division will be contested at Arizona, Houston, San Francisco, Green Bay, and Indianapolis.

After going 11-5 last season, the Carolina Panthers enter 2018 with high aspirations. The Panthers were just minutes away from advancing to the NFC Divisional Round in 2017 before Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints took over. In 2018, the Panthers believe they can compete with anyone and return to the Super Bowl.

Cam Newton will begin his 8th NFL season, all of which have come in Carolina. The former MVP is arguably the best dual threat in the game, which he proved last year with over 3,300 passing yards and 750 rushing yards. Despite his inconsistency, Newton has established himself as one of the most talented and entertaining quarterbacks in the league. Love him or hate him, Cam Newton brings a certain spark to the field that no other player can.

General manager Marty Hurney, who was rewarded with the full time position this past February, acquired Torrey Smith from the Philadelphia Eagles to join Devin Funchess in the receiving corps. Tight end Greg Olsen returns for his 8th season with Carolina, looking to recover from an injury that limited him last season. Olsen is a 3x Pro Bowler who has the third most receiving yards in Carolina Panthers franchise history, and he has been Cam Newton’s favorite target ever since he came over to Carolina. The team let go of veteran running back Jonathan Stewart in the off-season, but all that does is open the door for second year stud Christian McCaffrey to get more touches. With Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey leading the charge, the Carolina Panthers offense is can’t-miss entertainment.

On the defensive side of the football, the Panthers are led by All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, and he has anchored this defense ever since he was drafted in 2012. Veteran Julius Peppers will return for his 17th NFL season, joining new addition Dontari Poe on the defensive line. With former defensive coordinator Steve Wilks leaving to become head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Eric Washington will take over as defensive coordinator in 2018.

In 2018 Bank of America Stadium will see the Carolina Panthers go to battle with the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Seattle Seahawks.

Carolina Panthers suite rentals at Bank of America Stadium will vary in price depending on the team is playing, the location of the luxury suite and the amount of suite tickets included. A Carolina Panthers luxury suite features HDTVs, premium in-suite catering options, interior lounge seating, exterior balcony seating, wet bar, private restroom and a spacious floor plan. Most Panthers suites are going to accommodate parties of 16 – 22 guests. With a Panthers luxury suite, guests will receive exclusive access to the Silver Club, private entry into Bank of America Stadium and VIP parking passes.
