Reds Spotlight

Current MLB Season

The Cincinnati Reds looks to get back to the postseason for the second straight year in 2021. The Reds early exit in the NL Wild Card Series has the ballclub more motivated than ever. The Reds feature lineup led by Joey Votto, Mike Moustakas, Eugenio Suarez, Nick Castellanos, Nick Senzel and Aristides Aquino. Manager David Bell has a solid mix of veteran leadership and young talented players to rotate throughout the season.

On the mound, the Reds 2021 pitching staff will have Sonny Gray as their ace. Luis Castillo and Tyler Mahle will form a solid top 3. Sean Doolittle and Amir Garrett will be in the mix for closer and set-up duties.

With fans expected back to the Great American Ball Park in 2021, Reds fans will get to see a new premium area – the Press Club. This space behind home plate was once home to the media but was converted into a bourbon-themed club... MORE

Past Spotlights

The Reds made some strides in 2019 and there is some excitement building in Cincinnati for 2020. Mike Moustakas and Nick Castellanos join the club as free-agent acquisitions to join Eugenio Suarez as standouts in the lineup, but the Reds’ real strength lies in starting pitching. Shogo Akiyama will also join the outfield as a signing from Japan.

Luis Castillo emerged last season and makes a powerful one-two punch with Sonny Gray atop the rotation. Trevor Bauer and Anthony DeSclafani are both solid options as well. Closer Raisel Iglesias will be flanked by Amir Garrett and Michael Lorenzen in the bullpen. And with an eye to the future, 2019 No. 1 overall draft pick Nick Lodolo could see some starts either late this year or in 2021.

The Great American Ball Park has a new premium area debuting in 2020 – the Press Club. This space behind home plate was once home to the media but was converted into a bourbon-themed club featuring three-different seating options: high-top tables, high-top chairs, and extra-wide stadium seating. All-inclusive food and beverages come along with great views of the action. The stadium will also be debuting a new videoboard this season.

The Press Club joins the stadium’s several other premium locations, including the Dugout Box. These seats are located within the first five rows behind both dugouts and comes with access to the Scouts Club, a climate-controlled area with big-screen TVs and private concession stands. The Lexus Diamond Club features seats behind home plate while the FOX Sports Club offers unlimited ballpark food fare and soft drinks with seats behind home plate and along the first base line on the club level.

The Cincinnati Reds rebuild period is over and the Reds are ready to tackle the NL Central head-on. The Reds had one of the most exciting off-seasons in baseball. New faces in Cincinnati include Yasiel Puig, Sonny Gray, Matt Kemp, Alex Wood and Tanner Roark. All upgrades to the Reds’ lineup and pitching staff.

New manager, David Bell, takes over in the dugout in 2019. He’ll have an excellent mix of young promising players out of the Reds’ farm system with veterans looking to win now. Jesse Winker, Nick Senzel and Jose Peraza are going to be fixtures in the Reds lineup for years to come. Joey Votto remains the staple that keeps this team together. Adding Kemp and Puig with the rest of the lineup including Eugenio Suarez, Scooter Gennett and Scott Schebler, the Reds have both speed and power to beat their NL Central rivals.

Gray was acquired in a trade with the Yankees and will be the ace to the Reds’ staff. Wood also came over in a trade, he was formerly with the Dodgers. Roark, also new to the Reds and was formerly with the Nationals. Luis Castillo and Anthony DeSclafani will round out the rotation with Raisel Iglesias as their closer.
