How much do Kentucky Derby suites cost?

Most suite options for the Kentucky Derby will include the Kentucky Oaks as part of a package. At Churchill Downs, Turf/Infield Suites will typically range from $3,500 - $5,000 per ticket. Turf Club tickets will range from $4,000 - $6,500 per ticket. Millionaires Row tickets will be about the same as Turf Club in the $4,000 - $6,000 range per ticket. Jockey Club suites are some of the tougher tickets to get and could be sold as a private suite. They would range from $225,000 - $275,000.

The derby will feature the best 3-year-old thoroughbred horses in the world. The 2017 Derby field will be determined by a points system. The Kentucky Derby is a grade 1 stakes race and is one and a quarter miles long. The race has been given multiple nicknames like “The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports” or “The Run for the Roses” as the winner is draped with a blanket of roses. The Kentucky Derby is also the first leg of the Triple Crown and is followed by the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes. The Kentucky Derby is also the first leg of the Triple Crown and is followed by the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes. Last year, history was made as the winner of the Kentucky Derby went on to win the Triple Crown. Trainer Bob Baffert’s horse, American Pharoah ran by jockey Victor Espinoza became the first Triple Crown winner since 1978. Espinoza has won the Derby two years in a row. He rode California Chrome to victory in 2014. In 2013, Orb crossed the finish line first with Joel Rosario onboard. In 2012, I’ll Have Another won with jockey Mario Gutierrez. Twenty horses line up at the gate with a chance to win but only one can finish first. The Kentucky Derby winning purse is $2 million.

Churchill Downs also features many other events besides the Kentucky Derby.  The 2016 Fall Meets at Churchill downs will feature 13 races with a total of $2.1 million dollars in prize money.  The Fall Meets' most important events are the 142nd Clark Handicap, for three year old horses and above, Stars of Tomorrow II a race dedicated to 2-year old thoroughbreds, and the Mrs. Revere a stakes race for 3-year old fillies.
