PPG Paints Arena Event Planning Guide

Catering

Most Pittsburgh Penguins suite rentals will include a food and non-alcoholic beverage package. If a suite doesn't include the catering package or you would like to add alcohol, Penguins suite guests can pre-order food and drinks in advance. You won't be charged until the day of the game.

Parking and Transportation

Depending on the size of your Penguins luxury box, 1-5 VIP parking passes will be included. VIP Parking is located in the Jim Shorkey Auto Group Garage. There are various cash lots surrounding PPG Paints Arena that range in cost from $21-$32 per vehicle. Rideshare is also encouraged.

Budget

Pittsburgh Penguins luxury suites cost $8,250-$15,000 on average. The price will vary on the size of the suite, the day of the week and the opponent. Basic in-suite catering is often included but not always, so in that case, budget about $80-$100 per person for food and alcohol.

Club Access

Every Pittsburgh Penguins suite ticket holder has exclusive access to the PNC Legends Level and all premium club lounges. This includes the Captain Morgan Club featuring memorabilia the history of Penguins hockey. The Captain Morgan Club offers an upscale cash bar and premium concessions.

Dress Code

Most Pittsburgh Penguins luxury suite guests will be in casual clothing or Penguins-branded apparel. Hats, tennis shoes, shorts and jeans are all acceptable. If it's for a corporate event, business casual attire is most common. Coat closets in the suites provide some storage for guests.

Venue Bag Policy

Only small personal bags (purses, baby or diaper bags, etc) will be permitted inside PPG Paints Arena and all items are subject to searches upon entrance. This applies to Penguins suite ticket holders as well. Large bags, coolers, backpacks and sealed packages of any kind are not permitted.

Entrances

PPG Paints Arena has four separate entrances. For Penguins suite ticket holders, the private parking garage entrance is recommended. For all other guests, the Peoples Gate (Fifth Ave. and Washington Place), Highmark Gate (Centre Ave. Lower Entrance), Verizon Gate (Centre Avenue Upper Entrance).

Child Ticket Policy

Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket to attend a Pittsburgh Penguins game provided they sit on the lap of an adult throughout the game. Any child who has celebrated their 2nd birthday will need a ticket to enter the building. This applies to Penguins suite guests as well.

Penguins Spotlight

Current NHL Season

Last season shouldn’t scare Penguins fans away. For the first time in 16 years, Pittsburgh missed the playoffs. But in 2023-24, the team should be back in the picture. Sidney Crosby still leads the charge in Pittsburgh. The longtime veteran posted 93 points last season, his best mark since 2018-19. Crosby is joined by Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, all of whom have been with the organization since 2006. Malkin is still producing at 37 years old, coming off his best season in five years. And Letang is the backbone of the defense, a unit he’s anchored for over 15 years. To improve, Pittsburgh overhauled some of its roster. Erik Karlsson, Reilly Smith, Ryan Graves, and Rem Pitlick headline the offseason additions. The Penguins are primed to bounce back in 2023-24.

Past Spotlights

The Penguins lost a hard-fought seven-game series to the Rangers in the playoffs last year, and the team decided in the offseason to make another run with the same group of fan-favorites. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jake Guentzel (40 goals) are all back and will be supported by Bryan Rust, who signed a six-year contract extension after compiling 58 points last season, Danton Heinen, Jeff Carter, and Jason Zucker. Tristan Jarry was great in goal but injuries come playoff time hurt Pittsburgh’s chances to advance. Health will be the key for a veteran Pens squad in 2022-23.

Try the newest premium-seating offering in the PPG Paints Arena this season: the BetRivers Lounge. There are two carpeted rows of oversized seats with cupholders and USB ports in the armrests. In-seat beverage service is also available. You can also host anywhere from groups of two to 32 here, so flexibility is key. If you’d like more of a traditional luxury experience, Executive Suites are also available and hold 16 people on the PNC Legends Level of the arena. Suites come with all-inclusive food and non-alcoholic beverages, three parking passes, access to all of the clubs in the arena, and even a Penguins hat for each guest!

Staying afloat early in the season could be this club’s biggest concern, as Pittsburgh will try to weather the storm without its two marquee stars. Steel City icon Sidney Crosby will miss time while recovering from surgery on his wrist while Evgeni Malkin may be out even longer after undergoing knee surgery. The Pens won’t be short on offense in that stretch though as Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter will see increased time on the ice in the interim. Guentzel had scored 20 or more goals in each of the last four seasons while Carter should hit the 400-goal benchmark for his career before Malkin and Crosby return to the fold. One of the active leaders for points by defenseman, Kris Letang is back for his 16th year. Tristan Jarry will be the Penguins’ go-to-guy in net after posting a career-best 25 wins in 2020-21. For the newest premium seating option at PPG Paints Arena, check out the BetRivers Lounge. Two carpeted rows of spacious seats in the lower bowl await you as waiters tend to you with in-seat beverage service. The best seats in the house belong to Suite 66. Enjoy 22 tickets in the first five rows next to the team bench and access to the private bunker lounge decorated with memorabilia by the legend who made those digits famous, Mario Lemieux. The Line Change and Penalty Box Experiences also can put you up against the plexiglass for all the heart-pounding Penguins action.
