Devils Spotlight

Current NHL Season

The Devils just had their best season in franchise history. In 2023-24, New Jersey should rival its 112 points from last year. The Devils’ core is young and strong, already showing previous flashes. That group is led by center Jack Hughes, the first overall pick in 2019. The forward had a career-high 99 points last year, including 56 assists (ranked 19th in NHL). Nico Hischier, another former #1 pick, significantly improved last campaign. Veteran Dougie Hamilton exploded in 2022-23 for 74 points, the fourth most from a defender. Jesper Bratt and Dawson Mercer both continue to shine. And the off-season additions of Timo Meier and Tyler Toffoli make NJ even better. Toffoli had a career-high 73 points in 2022-23 and Meier notched 40 goals. The Devils are ready for a championship charge.

Past Spotlights

Going into their 40th-anniversary season, New Jersey Devils fans are getting a bit impatient for the team’s return to the Stanley Cup playoffs. Despite a talented roster, the Devils have fallen short the past few years, and plenty of changes were made in order to get back to the promised land. Head coach Lindy Ruff remains, but several assistants were shuffled in and out. On the ice, Ondrej Palat comes over from Tampa Bay along with Erik Haula, John Marino, Brandan Smith, and goalender Vitek Vanecek to play alongside MacKenzie Blackwood. The hope is the new players will gel and turn the young crop of players (Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, and Yegor Sharangovich) into winners.

Get a world-class entertainment experience in Newark’s Prudential Arena for a Devils game this season. Luxury suites are a fully private space holding between 12 and 20 guests. There are customized dining options to meet any need you may have along with surprise perks like in-game visits from former Devils players. The Prudential Center was designed to be a hockey-first building, so the sightlines from any suite in the arena are top-notch.

Management was sick of missing the playoffs for three straight seasons and made major moves in the offseason to end that drought. New Jersey nabbed the biggest free agent on the market in Dougie Hamilton, who has developed into the league’s best offensive defenseman, recording 121 points in his previous three seasons with Carolina. Hamilton will join Ryan Graves, who came over in a trade with Colorado, as the front line defensive unit. New Jersey also added Tomas Tatar, a consistent 20-goal scorer. 22-year-old Nico Hischier begins his first full season as captain and should get plenty of help offensively from Pavel Zacha and Andreas Johnsson. Newly acquired goaltender from Detroit Jonathan Bernier will push Mackenzie Blackwood for minutes in net. Premium is Platinum at the Prudential Center when it comes to enhancing your hockey experience. The best seats at center ice come with all-inclusive private gourmet dining at the Platinum Lounge. Pound the plexiglass with their Glass Seats options that comes with access to newly renovated clubs. A farm-to-fan experience can be found at The Restaurant. Superb dining can be found on high-top ledge seating, giving fans a look at everything on the ice.
