Coyotes Spotlight

Current NHL Season

The Coyotes are creeping back towards a postseason appearance. Arizona had its best record since 2019-20, the last time the franchise appeared in the playoffs. Clayton Keller led the way in 2023-24. The winger had career stats last year, putting up 86 points. Keller appeared in all 82 games last campaign for the third time in his seven-year career. Nick Schmaltz, Matias Maccelli, and Lawson Crouse are all strong pieces in the Coyotes offense. And, in the off-season, Arizona signed players like Logan Cooley and Jason Zucker to round out the unit. On defense, rookie Dmitri Simashev has sky-high potential. That leaves the future bright for this Coyotes squad.

Past Spotlights

The Coyotes are entering the second year of their redevelopment and will be looking for continued improvement in young players like Dylan Guenther and Matias Maccelli. Arizona is hoping that Clayton Keller, who had a career-high 28 goals last year before suffering a broken leg at the end of March, is healthy for a full season and can build on that success. Karel Vejmelka will man the net while young prospects work their way up the system.

While the Coyotes await word on their $2 billion arena proposal, they will be playing the next three seasons at the new Mullet Arena on the campus of Arizona State. The intimate arena holds 5,000 fans and received plenty of upgrades from the Coyotes to be NHL-ready. The brand-new arena in Tempe has a luxury suite level above the main level of seating. A food and beverage package is included with the suite, and you’ll get to pick which one suits your group best. Suites hold 14-17 fans and come with VIP parking and private restrooms on the suite level.

There’s an old, cliched sales pitch about not being able to tell the players without a scorecard. That may be the case for this year’s Coyotes, whose roster has undergone the equivalent of an extreme home makeover. Only nine members of last year’s squad return as general manager Bill Armstrong began molding a new team identity, including a new head coach in Andre Tourigny. Offseason acquisitions include numerous players with a wealth of experience such as Andrew Ladd and Anton Stralman. The biggest addition could be defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, who proved to be a solid contributor offensively in his seven seasons with the Flyers. Goaltender duties will go to Karel Vejmelka, who will be making his NHL debut after years playing in his homeland of Czechoslovakia. The Gila River Arena provides a multitude of specialty suite rental options to make an evening with the Coyotes one to remember for your family, friends, or clients. The Bally’s Sports Arizona Fan Cave Suite offers an oversized location with a food package and 3 VIP Parking passes. Longtime fans no doubt recognize the significance of the number 19, and how experiencing the Shane Doan Suite would be an unforgettable treat. Along with tickets, food, and beverage for 19 fans, an autographed jersey from the man who made the number famous in Glendale, comes with the rental. For fine dining, a membership to the AZBLUE Club comes with first-class hospitality treatment.
