The Phillies thrilled their loyal fans with a run to the 2022 World Series as a wild-card entrant to the playoffs last season. The run came to an end thanks to the Houston Astros in six games, but the Phillies are not resting on their laurels. There are injuries to deal with, as top pitching prospect Andrew Painter will start the year on the injured list, and Bryce Harper isn’t expected back until the summer. In addition, first baseman Rhys Hoskins will miss the entire season after an injury in spring training. The bullpen was beefed up by adding Craig Kimbrel, Matt Strahm, and Gregory Soto, and Taijuan Walker comes over from the Mets to join a rotation already stacked with Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler, and Trea Turner was a big offensive signing.
